Out of the Darkness Community Walk

The Out of the Darkness Community Walk benefits the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Nation wide, thousands of people partake in local walks to raise money for AFSP’s vital research and education programs to prevent suicide and save lives, increase national awareness about depression and suicide, advocate for mental health issues, and assist survivors of suicide loss. Ample downtown parking is available within close proximity to The Jacksonville Landing. Options include The Landing's own lot immediately east of the property, garage, metered street and peripheral parking.
“DON’T GIVE UP THE SHIP!!”
Naval ship museum store dedicated to the effort of acquiring the decommissioned Navy Destroyer, ex-USS CHARLES F. ADAMS DDG-2, as a permanent downtown attraction on the riverfront. Ship models and former shipboard equipments on display to help generate interest. Military ball caps and other items representative of all branches of service are available at very low prices.
